Mark Andreas

Mark Andreas, currently based in Stamford, Connecticut, has had a varied career as an artist, designer, carpenter, furniture maker, black smith, and ship builder. However, his passion always has been sculpture. Mark creates kinetic, abstract, and figurative sculpture. At its core, Mark’s art explores time, material, transformation, and social and environmental forces. Mark studied at the Art Institute of Boston and the School of Visual Arts in New York. From an early age, Mark was an avid sailor and he began studying boat building and carpentry as early as age fourteen. His experiences as a sailor and boat builder have inspired his reactive sculptures and his desire to understand nature. For the past decade, Mark has been working as an artist, teacher, and curator. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Berlin, Helsinki, Istanbul, Basal, Turku, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York. Mark’s work has been on show at solo shows in Brooklyn, Berlin, Tennessee, and Basel. He also has participated in various group shows including at Galeria...Read More
