My undergraduate degree is from Johnson College in Vermont, also home to The Vermont Studio Center. I spent a semester in France studying Art History and Fine Art. My Masters Degree is in Administration and Supervision in the Arts from Parsons School of Design and Bank Street College of Education in New York. I also studied Architecture at the University of Maryland and Columbia University culminating in a certificate in Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Gardens, and studied at the Chicago Art Institute and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. I spent 40 years teaching Art related subjects to all levels of students from Kindergarten to Adults, primarily in the high school level in the Wilton and Greenwich Public Schools and also at Parsons School of Design before coming to Silvermine. As the K-12 Art and Music Lead Teacher in Greenwich I also managed Music and Theater Departments. I have had single person shows in the Rockwell Art Gallery, Stamford Mayors Gallery, Wilton Library Gallery, Loft Artists Gallery and USB Bank Headquarters Gallery. I have been in group shows in the Stamford Museum, UConn Art Gallery, and in the Wilton Library and Loft Artists Galley numerous times.

As an educator I have mastered a wide range of media from Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, to Advanced Photographic Technology as a means of communication and as result I see no boundaries between these disciplines and use whichever media best communicates an idea. I draw or paint and take photos every single day seeking understanding. Overall, my recent work has been focused on how we perceive and process visual information.
